Results and Output Settings

Reading Time: < 1 minute

This article explains the results and output settings used by UpSearch Authorize, including file naming conventions, output directory configuration, and result packaging.

UpSearch Authorize is an on-premises, agentless desktop application with a small installation footprint. The digitally signed and antivirus-whitelisted application discovers, verifies, and securely collects information about Microsoft SQL Server instances and the underlying Windows Operating Systems throughout the environment.

Output generation and completeness depend on successful discovery and data collection throughout the environment.

Output Settings

The following settings control the naming convention and storage location of output files.

Settings

  • Organization Name: Specify the common-use name of your organization for file naming purposes. For example, if your organization name is “UpSearch”, the application will generate an output file similar to “UpSearch-2024-02-05-19-39.zip”. Capitalization is retained and the output files are date- and time-stamped.
  • Output Directory (optional): Specify the directory path where output files should be saved. If a path is not provided, the application will use the local “My Documents” folder. Ensure the selected directory allows write access.

Security Features

To help ensure confidentiality and security, assessment results and log files are SHA-256 encrypted and securely packaged in a ZIP archive.

Results may be securely uploaded to UpSearch for processing and analysis.

For questions regarding output settings or result handling, contact UpSearch through the Contact Us page.
